WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A small gas leak at a Shell gas station in Washington Township prompted a nearby business to evacuate Tuesday afternoon.

Love Cakes by Dorothy Lane Market located at 6255 Far Hills Avenue evacuated around 4:15 after calling police to report a strong smell of gas.

The gas station reported that roughly 15 gallons of fuel had spilled into a nearby drain roughly 30 minutes beforehand.

The Washington Township Fire Chief says that the spill has been contained.

The Environmental Protection Agency has been notified of the situation.
