Free Greater Dayton RTA service launches Friday

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greater Dayton RTA’s new service, The Flyer, officially begins Friday morning.

The shuttle service will provide free, fast connections for thousands of workers and students between downtown Dayton and the University of Dayton campus.

There will be a public launch party Friday at Courthouse Square beginning at 10 a.m.

“It’s fast, it’s frequent, it’s free, and it connects all things downtown to the University of Dayton campus and neighborhoods. The Flyer is the best way to explore all that Dayton has to offer,” says RTA CEO Mark Donaghy.

The Flyer buses will run Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Each of the three “green fleet” hybrid buses is trackable through RTA’s real-time products, like the free Transit app.
