Former substitute teacher to be sentenced for having sex with students

Local News

A former high school substitute teacher is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday for having sex with students.

Madeline Marx, 24, faces up to three years in prison for each charge, and must register as a Tier 3 sex offender.

She pled guilty in March to two counts of sexual battery involving students.

Marx was arrested at Kettering Fairmont High School in November 2017 after several students told the principal she was having inappropriate relationships with two students. Kettering Police say one incident happened in the parking lot of a Big Lots in July, and another happened in a car behind an apartment complex in late September.

Marx also admitted to sending nude photos to one of the students over social media.

She was a substitute teacher for both Kettering and Oakwood schools.

Sentencing is set to take place at 2 p.m. Thursday.
