Former jail corrections officer indicted on additional charges

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A former corrections officer has been indicted on additional counts for sexually assaulting another female inmate at the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 21, 2018, 23-year-old Franco R. Villella was indicted for two counts of sexual battery for an incident that happened on December 11, 2018. Villella was working as a corrections officer at the Montgomery County Jail when he took an inmate down the hallway to a restroom, where he forced her to submit to sexual conduct.

After news of that indictment became public, another victim came forward and reported that Villella also forced her to submit to sexual conduct as well.

Further investigation determined that these newly-reported incidents actually occurred before the previously-indicted incident.

Wednesday, Villella was indicted on four counts of sexual battery.

This is in addition to the previous indictment, meaning he is now indicted for a total of six counts of sexual battery.

Villella is out of custody and has been placed on Electronic Home Detention.

He will be arraigned on these new charges on April 18 at 9:30 am.
