Foodbank videos aim to show extent of hunger insecurity in Miami Valley

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Foodbank has partnered with a group that produces video to help bring awareness to food insecurity and the impact it has in the Miami Valley.

It is meant to go along with its “Fight Hunger, Spark Change” campaign. Through the end of May, customers can donate at any Walmart or Sam’s Club in the area and all proceeds will go directly to the Foodbank.

Some of the videos feature well-known community members who share their struggle with food insecurity. The stories are meant to showcase how many different kinds of people are affected by hunger in the Miami Valley.

“We really wanted to bring that story to life and let people know that this could be anybody,” says Lee Lauren Truesdale, Chief Development Officer with the Dayton Foodbank.

The videos were made possible with money from the Walmart Foundation.
