FIRE OFFICIALS: House fire in Harrison Township considered suspicious

Local News

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Fire officials say an early morning fire in Harrison Township is considered suspicious.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call about a fire at a house in the 2100 block of Lodell Avenue, near Kenneth Avenue around 1 am Tuesday.

When crews arrived, they found a house engulfed in flames.

Crews worked to knock down the fire and stop it from spreading to nearby homes.

Firefighters eventually contained the fire, but the house was destroyed. No neighboring homes were damaged in the fire.

Fire officials say the house had been vacant for nearly two years. There was no power or gas running to the house.

“It’s just a hazard. For the kids and everything. Somebody will end up getting hurt and will sue the city. Hopefully, it gets leveled,” said Jonathan Lutz, a neighbor.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
