Fire destroys car on busy Beavercreek highway

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman escaped unharmed from a car fire in Beavercreek Tuesday morning.

Police say the woman was driving north on I-675 around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday when she noticed smoke coming from her engine.

She pulled over near U.S. 35 and called the fire department. The fire started moments later, destroying the car.

Authorities shut down the right two lanes of I-675 northbound due to the car fire.

The cause is under investigation.
