A family in Springfield woke up to 3 intruders who tied them up and asked for drugs and money.
The incident happened around 5:00pm on Saturday.
Springfield Police say it all happened on the 700 block of Eastmoor Drive.
2 adults and their 2-year-old were laying in bed when 3 young men entered the room and separated the family.
According to the report, the suspects took the father into the living room, away from his wife and child. All three were tied up as the suspects went through the home.
The father told dispatch that he was kicked face while the rest of the family sustained minor injuries.
Police say the suspects demanded drugs and money, while holding semi-automatic guns. The family told the suspects that they had the wrong house.
The suspects stole an xbox 360, $80, an iPhone and a diaper bag.
Neighbors are stunned.
“It was shocking to hear that someone actually walked through their house and came in on them. It can happen anywhere. It is really concerning because we have elderly people that live in this area,” said one neighbor.
The family was able to break away from the zip-ties, suffering minor injuries.
The Springfield Police Department is investigating.
