Dayton Police released an updated description of a suspect vehicle in a deadly hit and run crash.

Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit say the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2002 Silver Chrysler Voyager mini-van with the Ohio License Plate GNS 6346.

The vehicle should have front end damage and damage to the front windshield.

The Montgomery County Coroner identified the victim as 20-year-old Logan C. Grimes, Jr. from Dayton.

“They knocked his boots off on the side of the road,” said Logan Grimes Sr.

The family is completely devastated by the sudden loss of Logan Jr.

“They took a gentle giant. They took an angel. They took someone away from us that we will never ever be able to replace,” said Grimes Sr.

Officers responded to reports of a person down in a yard in the 700 block of S. Smithville Road, near Huffman Avenue, around 9:45 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found that Grimes Jr. had been hit by a vehicle.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone who may have seen this incident or knows anything about it is urged to call Det. McDonald at 333-1141 or Crime Stoppers at 222-STOP.
