MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — The Federal Aviation Agency will investigate after a small plane made an emergency landing in northern Mercer County Thursday.
It happened around 4:45 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Erastus Durbin Road and Rockford West Road.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a plane was spraying a field when its engine failed and the plane lost power.
The pilot landed the plane, a 1979 Cessna A188B, in a bean field.
The pilot was not injured. The plane sustained minor damage.
The FAA will send an investigator to the scene Friday.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Mercer County EMA and Rockford Fire Department assisted OSP at the scene.
