DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A hearing was held Wednesday at the main branch of the Dayton Metro Library to discuss new information about the 2020 census.

Census experts talked about how representation counts and why it is important to participate.

“It will really control how power moves throughout the country, it’s really important for representation. Second, it’s really important for what type of funding and resources our community’s got. Third, it’s really important for us to know and understand our community, as in, who’s the core members of our community,” says Ashon McKenzie, Policy Director for Ohio Children’s Defense Fund.

Citizens should start receiving their survey in March of 2020.
