DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Volunteers helped paint the walls of House of Bread’s new addition over the past weekend.
The community kitchen is also building two new conference rooms as well as making kitchen improvements.
Executive Director Melodie Bennett tells 2 NEWS the number of families they serve has doubled, and this expansion is critical.
“Our dining room is very overcrowded, so we decided if we build a separate area for our families with children, we could provide resources to those families in a different way. We could provide resources to out adult guests in a different way, and make it a little bit more comfortable for everyone who needs to dine with us to have that opportunity,” Bennett said.
They expect the dining room to be fully operational in March.
