DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Actor and director Emilio Estevez made a stop in the Miami Valley over the weekend for a screening of his new film “The Public” at The Neon.
The film was shot entirely in Cincinnati, with the help of several Dayton crew members.
Estevez says that word is getting out about making movies in southwest Ohio.
“It’s the best place on the planet to make a film. Ohio just offers so much that we haven’t seen and it’s a location that hasn’t been shot, and the people are amazing. The technicians are great, the actors are fabulous, you see them all reflected in this film. ‘The Public’ is a Cincy-made, Cincy-proud film and you can see all that talent on the screen.”
The film focuses on the plight of the homeless and the changing roles of public libraries.
