Dryer fire forces person out of West Carrollton apartment

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A person must find a new place to stay after an apartment fire in West Carrollton.

Crews responded to reports of a dryer fire at an apartment on Gawain Circle around 2:45 a.m. Monday.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the front of an apartment

Crews knocked down the fire quickly.

No one was injured. Fire officials say there was a working smoke detector at the house that alerted the person to get out.

According to fire officials, the kitchen of the apartment was heavily damaged.

The Red Cross is assisting the person displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
