Driver taken to hospital after rear-end crash in Darke Co.

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a crash in Darke County.

Around 2:45 pm, Darke County Sheriff’s deputies along with Arcanum Rescue and New Madison Fire Department were dispatched to the 4700 block of SR-49 in reference to a two-vehicle injury accident.

Initial investigation revealed that a gold 1997 Toyota Corolla was traveling northwest on SR-49. He rear-ended a black 2003 Toyota Corolla that was stopped while trying to make a left hand turn onto Nottingham Way at Sherwood Forrest.

The driver of the 1997 Toyota Corolla was taken to Wayne Healthcare by Arcanum Rescue with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
