Driver taken to hospital after crashing into back of Xenia police cruiser

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday after striking the back of a Xenia Police cruiser.

Xenia Police tell 2 NEWS that it happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Monroe Drive and Wilson Drive.

The officer was sitting in her cruiser monitoring speed radar when a car crashed into the back of her cruiser.

Both the officer and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries. They have since been released.

The driver of the car was cited with having an open container, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and several other traffic charges.
