DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Authorities are looking for a driver who lead Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase before crashing into a pole.

Troopers say they had to swerve to avoid a car that crossed the center lane on a Dayton street. The troopers tried to pull that car over, but it took off.

According to OSP, troopers chased the car before it crashed into an RTA pole near the intersection of W. Hillcrest and Auburn Avenues.

The car snapped off part of the pole, before flipping upside down. The car nearly hit a nearby elementary school building in the crash.

The driver of the car ran from the scene. Authorities were unable to find the driver.

Troopers didn’t say if the car was stolen.

No troopers were injured during the pursuit.
