ARCANUM, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was ejected from his vehicle following a head-on crash in Darke County Wednesday morning.
Around 9:56 am, emergency crews with the Pitsburg Fire Department, Arcanum Fire and Rescue, CareFlight, and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a crash in the area of SR-49 South and Grubbs-Rex Road.
Our partners at the Greenville Daily Advocate report that initial investigation by the Sheriff’s Department indicates that the driver of a white 1997 Chevy S10 was traveling south on SR-49 South when it drifted left-of-center and crashed head-on into a northbound white 2017 Ford Transit van.
The Chevy continued off the left side of the roadway and rolled at least once, ejecting the driver, before coming to rest in a field.
The driver was treated at the scene by Arcanum Rescue prior to being transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight for non-life threatening injuries.
The van’s driver was treated on the scene for his injuries and taken to Miami Valley North by Arcanum Rescue. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
