Driver causes second accident while fleeing scene of crash

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver caused a crash on I-70 eastbound Tuesday morning as they were fleeing the scene of a separate hit-and-run crash.

The hit-and-run occurred on Hoke Road just before 8:50 a.m.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper tells 2 NEWS one of the cars fled the area and hopped onto I-70 eastbound, where they caused a second crash near OH-48.

The driver and passenger of the fleeing car were both taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The occupants of the car hit on I-70 suffered minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital.

It is unknown at this time what charges the driver will face.
