Despite early morning snowfall Monday, the Wright Stop Bike Shop ushered in a springtime tradition.
“It might not feel like spring right now, but you know Ohio,” said Allison Wichie, Greater Dayton RTA Communications Specialist. “Soon it’ll be biking weather and we want to make sure your bikes are in tip-top shape.”
The bike shop, located on Main Street near the downtown RTA transit hub, re-opened its doors to the public Monday. During the spring, summer and early fall, two certified mechanics offer full-service bicycle repair.
The Greater Dayton RTA operates the Wright Stop Bike Shop, alongside its Link Bike Share program.
“We’re in the downtown community,” explained Wichie. “We’re the only bike shop here in downtown Dayton, which we know serves a need.”
David Danner said he uses the bike shop for its convenience and prices. The cyclist was among the first customers looking for a spring tune-up Monday.
“(I’m here for) brakes, gear shift… I’ve had my bike for almost ten years now and it’s showing some signs of wear and tear,” Danner explained.
