Dayton VA hosts 2K Walk & Roll to support homeless veterans

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton VA hosted the 9th annual VA 2K Walk and Roll Tuesday as part of a nationwide event that aims to raise awareness of homelessness for veterans and provide support by collecting donations.

Organizers, some of who are also veterans, use this event to help others with similar experiences.

“For me, I have a personal interest in it. Being a veteran myself, it gives me that connection to other veterans, being connected to them, doing what I can to assist them in getting care here at the VA,” says Rodney Brown, acting Assistant Director of the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Last year, the event raised more than $300,000 worth of goods for veterans across the country.
