Dayton students participate in ‘Walk to School Day’

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton Public School students joined millions around the world in “Walk to School Day.”

The district says it began in 1997 and since then, they have worked to create better school pedestrian safety.

“Drivers need to put down their cellphones and not text and drive so they can pay attention to our future here that’s crossing the street right in front of you,” says parent Renee Campbell.

More Dayton Public School students will be walking to school Thursday and Friday.
