DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton student was hit by a school bus Wednesday morning.
Dayton Public Schools says a sixth-grade student ran in front of a DPS school bus. The driver of the bus was able to stop, avoiding serious injury, but the student was still hit by the bus, according to a DPS Spokesperson.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday on Bierce Avenue near S. Jersey Street.
Emergency medics were called to the scene to examine the student. The student was later released.
The other students on the bus were moved to another school bus and taken to school.
Dayton Police and DPS are reviewing the incident and the school district says at this time “no wrongdoing on the part of the driver is evident.”
