Dayton Police investigate armed robberies near Oregon District

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating two armed robberies in the Oregon District that happened just minutes apart.

The first happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Brown Street near E. Fifth Street.

The victim told police a man with a gun demanded money before running away.

About 10 minutes later, crews responded just down the street near the area of Fifth Street and Wayne Avenue for a second robbery.

The victim also said an armed suspect robbed them, then ran away towards U.S. 35.

Officers called a K-9 unit to the scene to search for the suspect but didn’t find anyone.

The suspect is described as a man, standing 5’8″. He was wearing a gray shirt, denim pants and a red cap.

It’s not clear if the robberies are connected.
