Dayton Police take suspect into custody without incident after standoff on Alaska St.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police were sent to a standoff on Alaska Street Friday afternoon.

Authorities told 2 NEWS that they received a call informing them a man was inside a home with others, armed with a handgun, threatening to take his own life. Police arrived and made phone contact with the man, working to get the people inside to safety.

Once the others were safe, police continued working with the man — convincing him to enter police custody without incident.
