Dayton officer caught on camera doing good deed

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton police officers is making waves on social media after taking time to help a resident.

Officer Zachary Banks stopped to help an elderly woman in the Eastmont neighborhood finish mowing her lawn.

Kayla Cameron saw what was happening and posted photos on Facebook.

Kayla wrote, “Today while picking my son up from school I witnessed a Dayton Police officer park his cruiser just to help an older lady mow the rest of her yard! It’s so nice seeing nice people help the elders. Seriously just melted my heart. I wish I knew what officer this was because he deserves some appreciation!!”

2 NEWS asked Officer Banks why he stopped to do some yardwork.

He said, “We do this stuff all the time, like pushing cars down the street or changing tires, anything we can do to help, we just try to jump on it. this is the first time I think I’ve been caught on camera and been a viral hit, which is awesome.”
