DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man was indicted Tuesday on counts related to stabbing a man whose body was found on December 8, 2018.
On December 8, 2018, 39-year-old Laron M. Cunningham was found claiming medical distress at the Wilkinson Plaza Apartments on West Fifth Street in Dayton.
Before he was released from the hospital, he made comments about a deceased body.
Police investigated his comments and found 60-year-old Michael Oliver, who had been stabbed to death inside his apartment, right where Cunningham told authorities to look.
DNA evidence, video surveillance, and Cunningham’s confession confirmed that he was the one responsible for Oliver’s death.
He was indicted Tuesday by the Montgomery County Grand Jury for:
- Seven counts of murder
- Two counts of aggravated robbery
- Two counts of aggravated burglary
- Two counts of felonious assault
- One count of burglary
All of the counts include repeat violent offender specifications because he was previously convicted of robbery back in 2004, aggravated robbery in 2006, and felonious assault in 2004.
Cunningham is in custody at the Montgomery County Jail being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 8:30 a.m.
