DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man is facing additional charges after an investigation into sex offenses committed on children led to the discovery of more victims.
On December 7, 2018, 51-year-old Gary Oscar Kelly was indicted for two counts of gross sexual imposition of a child under thirteen and one count of public indecency, which involved a 4-year-old victim.
As part of that investigation, officers uncovered additional allegations of inappropriate sexual activity were discovered.
These allegations involved two additional victims, ages 6 and 13, that occurred from January 1987 to August 1993.
Thursday, the Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Kelly on the following charges:
- Five counts of rape of a child under 13
- One count of rape by force
- One count of attempted rape of a child under 13
- Eight counts of gross sexual imposition of a child under 13
- One count of public indecency
Two of the gross sexual imposition counts also have sexually violent predator specifications attached.
Prosecutor Heck adds, “When law enforcement learns of allegations of sexual abuse, even when committed years or decades ago, we will prosecute those charges and hold the offender accountable. Even though a disclosure is delayed, the victim still deserves justice.”
Kelly is currently out on bond and on electronic home detention. He will be arraigned on the new charges Monday, April 15, at 1:30 pm.
