DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man was found guilty as charged Monday for the shooting death of a man on September 20, 2017.

On the morning of September 21, 2017, Dayton Police officers responded to reports of a person who was found in an ally behind a home on Five Oaks Avenue.

The victim, 42-year-old Antonio Perkins, of Dayton, was found dead of a gunshot wound.

Upon investigation, it was determined that 27-year-old Jeremy R. Harris was the shooter.

He was found guilty Monday on the following charges:

  • Five counts of Murder
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • Two counts of Aggravated Robbery
  • Two counts of Tampering with Evidence
  • One count of Having Weapons while Under Disability (prior offense of violence)

The murder, felonious assault, and aggravated robbery counts have 3-year firearm specifications attached because Harris used a firearm to commit the offenses.

Harris is being held on a $1,000,000 bond at the Montgomery County Jail.

He will be sentenced on Wednesday, September 26.
