DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton International Airport announced that it is bringing a brand new airline to Ohio.
Avelo Airlines began as a startup company in 2021 providing service to New Haven, Connecticut. Over the past few years, they have continued to grow in their mission of providing affordable travel with a focus on smaller airports across the U.S.
And now they are making their Ohio debut in Dayton.
“This is an exciting day, we’ve worked a long time for this,” Chris Kershner, president and CEO of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce said. “Travelers in Dayton have told us, ‘we want more airlines with more destinations.’ Well, today we are delivering on that promise.”
This new addition to the Dayton International Airport continues the trend of companies continuing to invest in Ohio and Dayton.
“When we look at the kinds of things that are happening in this community, more and more investments are happening in Dayton, More and more opportunities for people to come to Dayton and to get a return on their investment,” Dayton Mayor Jeffery Mims said.
The airline is already available to book for your next flight.
In addition to a new airline, the Dayton International Airport also announced that they are adding service to Orlando, Florida.
