DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Fire Department promoted seven firefighters at a City Hall ceremony on Friday.
Firefighters being promoted include:
- Capt. Andrew Wiley will be promoted to the rank of District Chief
- Lt. Aaron Chaney will be promoted to the rank of Captain
- Lt. Jesse Landis will be promoted to the rank of Captain
- Firefighter/Paramedic Jerod Cox will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
- Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Fleming will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
- EMT Amanda Henson will be promoted to the rank of Paramedic
- EMT John Parry will be promoted to the rank of Paramedic
The Assistant Chief says they lost several members due to retirements in the past several months.
Family, friends, and co-workers welcomed the firefighters into their new ranks.
“It’s huge to have family and friends, co-workers, quite a few retired firefighters, officers..a couple of the promotees, their dads were District Chiefs as well, so they’re following in their footsteps in the leadership role for the city,” says Assistant Chief Andrew Braun.
