DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Three of Dayton’s finest were promoted on Monday.
The Dayton Fire Department held a ceremony to celebrate the day in the city commission chambers.
Andrew Braun was promoted to Assistant Chief, while Brad Monnin earned the status of Captain.
Craig Robinson was promoted from firefighter to Lieutenant, as well.
“To get promoted in the Dayton Fire Department is quite the undertaking,” said Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Lykins. “It’s highly competitive. It’s not uncommon for our members to study for a full year or years. This is eight hours a day on their day off. It’s a true effort.”
The firefighters will step into their new roles effective immediately.
