DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A kitchen fire has left a family displaced for the night.

Just after 10 p.m., the stovetop in an apartment at 40 E. Helena St. caught fire and quickly extended to the surrounding cabinets.

Crews were able to keep it from spreading to other units, according to Dayton’s Fire Chief.

He says the family will have to stay with other family members tonight.

No injuries were reported.
