DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Dragons brought the excitement of baseball to local students on Friday.

Mascots Heater and Gem, along with the Dragons Green Team paid a visit CF Holliday elementary school in preparation for the 2019 season.

The interactive assemblies included skits, contests, sing-a-longs, and a lot of excitement.

The kids also learned about proper nutrition, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.

“Our goal is to bring a fun, active environment to the school, and they’ll hopefully take something away from this today and it’s something they can bring into their everyday lives,” says Tom Nichols, Broadcaster for the Dragons.

The group will travel to schools from Springboro to Sidney through April.

Opening night for the Dragons is set for April 4.
