Dayton crews fight large fire at business on Valley Street

Miami Valley News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Dayton Fire Department was sent to a large fire that broke out at a business on Valley Street on Friday.

Crews arrived to Ken’s Automotive just after 3 p.m. Smoke and fire were visible from the building for over an hour while they fought the blaze.

Officials said that an employee was working on a vehicle with a welding torch and accidently hit a gas line.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, however, the property appears to be a lose and 18 cars were damaged as well.

Due to the nature of the fire, Dayton’s hazmat team was called to the scene to help with clean up because of oil from the cars involved.

This is a developing story and WDTN.com will update it when new information is available.
