DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Closure is the ultimate gift Dayton Police would like to give some families as 2018 comes to an end. As part of a year-end Crime Stoppers series, 2 NEWS is following up with detectives on some of their recent unsolved homicides.

“I can’t sit here and say we’ll solve all these. I know that will never happen; but we can at least try our best to solve the ones that we can,” says Dayton Police Major Brian Johns.

Investigators are still trying to fill in the gaps in the death investigation of Adriaunna Jackson. Just four days after she turned 21, the young mother was shot and killed.

“It’s kind of heartbreaking,” says Dayton Police Lieutenant Jason Hall.

Adriuanna died when someone fired shots into a car at West Siebenthaler Avenue and North Main Street July 6, 2018. Hours before the shooting, she had been with a group of people at a nightclub in Harrison Township.

“This all started at Club Plush involving an argument and it just happened to spill into the Dayton area,” says Dayton Police Sergeant Jeffery Spires

Police said there were two people in the car with Adriaunna. One of them was also shot but survived. The two surviving witnesses say it was a dark-colored Chevy Impala that fired at them and sped away.

“There are no small details,” says Hall. “We would hope that somebody who might have some information, no matter how insignificant they might think it is, would come forward.”

If you have any information that could help bring Adriaunna’s killer to justice, call Crime Stoppers. The number to call is 937-222-STOP or 937-222-7867. Tips can remain anonymous and you could earn a cash reward.
