‘Cribs for Kids’ donation will help promote safe sleeping conditions for infants

Local News

TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – Miami County Public Health received a grant Wednesday from the CareSource foundation to help bring back its “Cribs for Kids” program.

The donation will help the county promote safe sleep for infants by providing parents with safe sleep education.

Three babies die in unsafe sleep environments every week in Ohio.

“I think it’s very exciting to be able to help out our community. If we feel like we are helping that baby out and giving them a safe place to sleep, then we are doing our job for our community,” says Jennifer Stewart of Miami County Public Health.

Officials will give out free Pack N Plays to those who qualify.

They hope to have the program up and running in a few weeks.
