HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Crews worked to rescue a driver after a crash in Harrison Township Friday morning.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Thunderhawk Court and Webster Street.

Authorities say a car was driving north on Webster Street when it ran off the road, crashed through a guardrail and ended up on its side in a ditch. The car came to rest tangled in heavy brush well off the road.

Crews at the scene used chainsaws to cut through brush in order to reach the vehicle and free the driver.

The man driving was able to crawl out of his vehicle. Medics transported the man to a local hospital with reported non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities shut down Webster Street in both directions at Thunderhawk Court to clear the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
