DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A fire was reported at a vacant home Friday night.

A call came in around 9:43 pm reporting that a house located at 24 Norman Avenue was on fire.

Firefighters say that when they arrived at the scene, the house was actively on fire, with flames reaching between 20 and 30 feet.

The homes on either side of the vacant house also caught fire as a result. One of the homes was also vacant, while the other was occupied.

No injuries were reported.

District Chief Adam Landis with the Dayton Fire Department said that after a point, responders had to evacuate the structure and switch to a more defensive strategy to extinguish the flames.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

No further details are available at this time.
