Crews rescue family from burning home in Hamilton

HAMILTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Firefighters rescued a family rrom a burning house in Hamilton early Friday.

Crews responded to a fire at a house on North C. Street, near Wayne Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the first floor of a house. Fire officials say the house was divided into four apartments.

Firefighters learned two adults and two children were trapped in an apartment on the second floor. Crews used a ladder truck to rescue to the family.

The mother and her two children were taken to a local hospital for evaulation. They are expected to recover.

The man living in the apartment, and several people living in the other apartments were not injured.

Crews also rescued three dogs and a cat from the burning house.

Fire officials say the fire is suspicious.

The house is considered a total loss.

Fire officials say the American Red Cross will help people displaced by the fire.
