Crash in construction zone slows morning traffic in Vandalia

VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) -- A two-vehicle crash in a construction zone slowed morning traffic in Vandalia Thursday.

It happened around 6 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of I-75 near Northwoods Boulevard.

Police say a car was merging onto I-75 from Northwoods Boulevard. The driver reportedly got confused in the construction zone and stopped in a lane.

Moments later, a pickup truck hit the car. The truck ran off the road and ended up in a nearby tree line.

No one was injured.

Police shut down the right lane of I-75 SB just past the entrance ramp from Northwoods Boulevard due to the crash. All lanes reopened just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, the driver of the car would be cited for unsafe lane change.
