Coroner identifies man killed in Trotwood car fire

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A man is dead after a car fire in Trotwood early Friday morning.

Crews were called to the 5800 block West Third Street near Norfolk Avenue just before 4:30 Friday morning.

53-year-old Edward Scott was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

An address for the man could not immediately be found.

Scott’s cause of death is pending until officials can review the results of toxicology tests from the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab.

The incident remains under investigation by the Trotwood Police Department.
