KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified a man found dead in a creek in Kettering.

The Coroner’s Office identified him as 76-year-old Robert Tuma from Kettering.

Police issued an endangered missing alert for Tuma earlier Wednesday.

A passerby was walking over a bridge in Kettering late Wednesday afternoon when he spotted a body in the creek below.

Lt. Lee Sanders says that the body of an elderly white male was found near Hempstead Station Drive around 4:45 p.m.

Police were not immediately able to determine how long the man, later identified as Tuma, had been there.

There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, but police will wait for the coroner to determine a cause of death before they close their investigation or identify the man.
