TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people are dead after a head-on collision in the 6100 block of East SR-41 late Monday afternoon.

Our friends at the Piqua Daily Call report that the crash happened around 5:30 pm and the Miami County Coroner was called shortly after.

According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, a Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on State Route 41 crossed the median and struck a Chevrolet Express van traveling eastbound.

Wade A. Zunk, 58, of Bradford, was the driver of the Jeep Cherokee while Christopher Lundy, 63, of Troy, was the driver of the Chevrolet Express van. Both were killed in the crash.

SR-41 was closed from SR-201 to Hufford Road for several hours while emergency crews worked to clear the area.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.

Zunk was not wearing a seatbelt while Lundy was wearing one.
