DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Moraine Police Department has made an arrest in last week’s fatal hit and run on southbound I-75.
Witnesses of the accident and surveillance video identified the vehicle as a full-sized white pickup, later narrowed to a 2021 Ram 2500. The vehicle was seen getting off on Dryden Road shortly after striking Emily Ryan, 20, shortly after midnight Friday, April 21.
Around 3:15 a.m. Friday, the vehicle was spotted again on surveillance video taken from area businesses. It was seen leaving the area, heading north on Dryden Road.
On Tuesday, Moraine police tracked the truck to a campground in Oldham County, Kentucky. Kentucky police located and seized the truck, arresting the vehicle’s owner on an unrelated warrant.
He is currently being held in Boone County, Kentucky, Jail. Charges related to Ryan’s death are expected to be filed in Montgomery County.

According to Moraine police, just after midnight on Friday, April 21, a person was struck by a vehicle on I-75 South near Dryden Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle 20-year-old Emily Ryan was driving became disabled in the right lane north of the Dryden Road exit ramp. Ryan reportedly got out of her vehicle and was struck by a white pickup truck.
Moraine police said the truck continued south and then exited the interstate onto Dryden Road.
Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are actively searching for the vehicle that struck Ryan. The truck is said to be a full-size, newer, white pickup truck with amber cab lights on its roof. It was last seen traveling north on Dryden Road.
