DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A body was recovered from the water in Eastwood MetroPark on Monday evening.
Just after 5 p.m., first responders were called to the scene after visitors at the park noticed a body in the water.
Five Rivers MetroParks rangers, along with personnel from the Dayton Fire Department’s search and rescue team, arrived on scene shortly after.
Sgt. Eric Lane, Five River MetroParks ranger, described the deceased as a Black male approximately 20-30 years old.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office was also called to the scene, but the circumstances surrounding the deceased being in the water remains unclear.
The incident remains under investigation.
