DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Coretta Scott King Center at Antioch College hosted their third annual Legacy Luncheon at the Dayton Racquet Club Monday.

The event recognizes residents and organizations committed to helping with social justice issues throughout the area, along with honoring civil rights leaders from around the country.

“Our mission is to advocate for social justice and we think it’s important, it’s essential to recognize others who are doing that good work as well,” says Mila Cooper, Executive Director of the Coretta Scott King Center.

Award recipient Opal Tometi said, “It’s not every day you get to sit among so many of your peers and your people that have been doing incredible work for all of their lives, and you get to be recognized.”
