Completion date for SR 235 bridge project extended

GREENE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – Drivers can now expect State Route 235 bridge work to be finished by late December or early January.

State Route 235 has been closed between Dayton-Yellow Springs Road and Enon Road since April.

Our partners at the Fairborn Daily Herald report that the project was originally supposed to take six months.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says the project is taking longer because fractured rock was discovered, and more stabilization was needed.

Traffic is detoured using US 68, West Hyde Road and West Enon Road.

The detour now goes through a school zone, so Greene County officials are warning drivers to take it slow.
