DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The founders of Miami Valley non-profit Conscious Connect, Inc. were named to Forbes eighth annual ’30 Under 30’ list.
They were selected in the education category for risk-takers who are shaping the future of learning, access, and opportunity.
The organization is dedicated to creating a literary oasis in areas historically known as ‘book deserts.’
Co-Founder Karlos Marshall said, “It’s a true honor to be recognized on Forbes 30 Under 30 list, but really, receiving this award is just representative of the work of the many different partners, community advocates, as well as our supporters.”
“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized in this way, obviously. I personally feel that it’s somewhat of a vindication of all the hard work we have been putting in over the past couple years,” said Co-Founder Moses Mbeseha. “But really, just being selected so exclusively is a privilege and I’m proud to receive something like that.”
Conscious Connect has established ‘little libraries’ in several elementary schools in Dayton.
