CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police in Clayton are encouraging residents to register their private home security camera systems with the city as a way to help law enforcement collect information about crimes and suspicious activity.
“By registering the security system you are simply letting the Clayton Police Department know you have a private security/camera system and you are potentially willing to share video with them, in the case of investigating suspicious activity within your neighborhood,” police say.
If you decide to register your equipment with the city, police want to stress that they would only request archived video on a case-by-case basis.
You can register your home security systems by completing this form online, or in person by calling Sergeant Joe Sanders at 937-836-3500, extension 144.
